Operation Our Clean Roads, a collaborative initiative between the A-NPDC, Waste Watchers of the Eastern Shore, and VDOT.  The next OOCR has not yet been scheduled, if you’d like to help organize a clean up in your area, please contact jsteelman@a-npdc.org

In 2014, the A-NPDC and the 501(c)3 Waste Watchers of the Eastern Shore created the GreenWorks Committee. Building on a common mission to support volunteer stewardship of the public roadways and engage in litter reduction efforts on Virginia’s Eastern Shore and to attain a cleaner and greener environment, this Committee enhances our ability to achieve this common mission, both individually and collectively.

Wondering what to do with all these different types of trash?!

The first weekend in June, in conjunction with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Annual Clean the Bay Day, we go out to Guard Shore Beach and Save the Bay!

Wow! in 2019, over 50 volunteers cleaned up about a TON (literally, about 2,000 pounds!) – 73 bags, tires, chairs, boxes buckets, etc. – on almost 10 miles of beach and roads surrounding Guard Shore! Thank you to the Arcadia High School’s Hi-Y Club , Tyson’s group , and local citizens for all your efforts to beautiful the Shore, help prevent mosquito-bourne illnesses, and reduce litter in the Chesapeake Bay! Looking forward to CTBD 2021! But, in the meantime, help keep our Bay clean (remember – always take safety precautions)!
