Ocean & Marine Planning

The Eastern Shore of Virginia is intrinsically linked and dependent upon the nearshore and offshore waters of the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. A multitude of uses occur in these areas and have resulted in a variety of use conflicts historically. To reduce use conflicts and enhance the productivity and sustainability of natural resources, the A-NPDC administers ocean and marine planning projects in conjunction with private industry, local, state, and federal partners.
